too expensive or too lazy to do anything exciting?
18 to 19 April 2005
Why didn’t we go diving in Puerto Vallarta? I’ve read about the great dives here
and was prepared to do at least one. Was it really because it was too expensive?
Now, come to think of it, S$52 to S$74 for a dive or two, although there was no
guarantee we’ll see manta rays, wasn’t that expensive. Or was it? Hmm…

And we ended up doing nothing exciting. Just more shopping and walking aimlessly around.
giant apartment in Puerto Vallarta
17 April 2005
Our last accommodation in Mexico was the biggest room we had this trip.
It’s in Puerto Vallarta. Hotel Cartagena. Balcony, bedroom, living room,
dining room, kitchen, bathroom and lobby, all in a longish apartment.

shopping and squirrels
14 to 16 April 2005
After watching the Frida movie, what’s coming to Mexico City without visiting the Frida Museum? So a trip there was called for. Along the way there, we went into a park and was greeted by squirrels. A park filled with jumpy, hoppy squirrels. And we spent the rest of our time in Mexico’s capital shopping. Our trip was ending soon, so we better get some more souvenirs.

more Mayan pyramids than we can handle
12 to 13 April 2005
And then we were in Mexico City. I’ve read and heard so much about this place.
The high crime rate. I was actually quite scared, especially after the Lima watch-snatching episode. But nothing did happened. Maybe because we were also extra careful. Anyway, here, we visited the famous Teotihuacan, the biggest Mayan ancient city. It was way to big. Too much walking. Too much sun. Too tiring.

a birthday in San Cristobal de las Casa
10 to 11 April 2005
My 37th birthday was spent in San Cristobal de las Casa. At 2100 metres above sea level, it’s a cool, lovely and colourful town. But I don’t remember doing anything special on this special day.

This is a chop-sticks holder from a Chinese restaurant. But it was not an enjoyable meal.
