In 2004, my wife and I embarked on an extended backpacking trip. Now, more than two years after returning to Singapore, and much hesitation, I’ve decided to blog this travelogue.

Because that trip began on 23 August 2004, I’m going to start this blog on the same day this year. I promise that I’m going to try to publish the travelogue regularly. All I need is your patience and imagination. Imagine that this is still the year 2004.

Before I start, I’ll like to answer a question that almost every one of my friends asked: “When did you get the time to create these travelogues?”

“My travelogues were written (and drawn) during the trips. Most days, I would spend up two hours recording the events that took place on that day or the day before. It would be done in a cafe, on a park bench and/or back in the guesthouse before bed.”
