no climbing in the castle
10 to 13 December 2004
Being in London and hearing so much about it, I had to make a trip to the Castle Climbing Centre. It’s a bit out of the way, but it was worth the trip. It’s real nice. They’ve converted a castle into a climbing gym. Although it’s really expensive, I still wished that I had someone to climb with. It’s so sad being in a climbing centre without a climbing partner.

We watched so much tv in london. The bad weather and early nightfall helped put us in the room most of our stay here.
We flown back to Amsterdam for one more night before saying
good bye to Europe.
burning CDs and burning time
07 to 09 December 2004
After 106 days on the road, our combined photos totalled more than 26000. That’s 15GB of digital images. They were burned into 42 CDRs and one DVD.
And I burned two days burning them.

On our 6th day here, we finally got some time to sight-see London.
a moody kind of London
05 to 06 December 2004
December in London was grey, damp, cold and moody. And expensive.
Very expensive. Why is the entire day day so grey? And why is it starting
to get dark by 1500hrs? It was so depressing. Can’t wait to get to the
second leg of our round-the-world trip, South America.

Here’s the layout of our room in London. Although we had a garden,
we did not once get out to enjoy the cold sunless sky. But the kitchen
and television was extremely useful.

02 to 04 December 2004
After three months of almost free travel on the European rail system, our Eurail pass finally expired today. And just in time too. Because our Europe leg of the trip is coming to an end soon.

book two… a continuation from The Hague
01 December 2004
Entering into my second empty journal, we took a day trip to Amsterdam again. We went to the library for free internet access, and booked our London accommodation.

December 2004 calender.
A stamp sheet. I used the ‘2′ torn out stamps for a postcard I mailed home to myself. It will be in the next entry.
