a cooking good time in prague

Having a kitchen in our room in Prague meant cooking what we like for our meals. Saved us time deciding what to eat. Saved us money too.

From a shared youth hostel room in Warsaw to a cold private room in krakow to a dorm in a sports college in Bratislava.

After Warsaw, we travelled to Krakow in a squeezed train compartment.
The Bratislava’s public transport tickets are so beautiful that I have to collect so many of them here.
I wanted to eat chocolate fondue in Bratislava, but the cafe that has that on the menu said it was not available. Sniff.
grey grey go away
21 to 23 September 2004
I think we did not give Berlin enough time to show us its true colours.
But the grey skies, the grey buildings, the grey rain, were making us grey.
So we head to Warsaw.

This is a drawing of our shared room in Hostel Oki Doki in Warsaw.
It has bright yellow walls and cacti painted on them because it’s called Mexico Room. But it was cold and raining outside that day.
how do you put a train into a ferry
19 to 20 September 2004
The train we took from Copenhagen to Hamburg took us by surprise when it pulled into a Scandlines Ferry. And then sailed to Germany. A whole train on a ferry? It’s a true story.

This wooden knife came with the breakfast that was being served on the train.
See the two tiny pieces of concrete that are stuck on the top left of this page? They were from the Berlin wall.
moving along in scandinavian europe
13 to 18 September 2004
Four days in a train hostel in Lund made a great base to visit the quaint little towns in the area. After that, we made Copenhagen our base to visit the interesting towns in that area too. With the Eurail Pass, hopping on and off trains was just super.

I bought this red shirt because we were leaving for Germany the next day, and there were extra Danish Kroner left.
